A flawed but interesting movie. Hard to imagine it being made in these more child welfare conscious days. Looks like she really does hop into bed starkers and start cuddling the kid in a scene towards the end. I. Guess there was that Nicole Kidman film - Birth - had similar theme.
I was thinking while watching the film that if anyone were to even think about putting similar content in a film today as what was featured in the movie (Marcus putting in the peephole because it "turns him on," having his stepmother strip in exchange for information, getting out of the bathtub to grab her breasts, etc.) not only would it be banned from ever seeing the light of day but the director might even be arrested. There's no way they could get away with it. A film like this could only be made in the '70s. Anyways I agree it was an interesting movie and I can see it becoming one of my favorites.
There's ways to cheat it, even then. Doubles, a top w/ straps on the back, tape or something similar to cover private areas, etc. etc.
Today, they could just use CGI to remove a top. W/ the movie Birth, through some camera tricky appears to be naked in front of the kid, but she was never naked in front of the kid when it was filmed.
In the scene where Marcus is trading information for seeing Elise naked, or "You. Your natural essence" as he puts it, you can clearly see the cut when the camera is behind Marcus and looking at Elise. The cut replaces Marcus with someone else (a full grown man with a wig). From then on it's just closeups of their face and her from the chest up. Any scene that shows any nudity is from behind his head where it's a double.
in the scene where she gets into the bed with him, we are only seeing her from behind. Probably covered in front. So little 14 year old Marc Lester may have never seen Britt Ekland naked. Though I'm not really sure anyone should get too upset if he actually did. He'd probably remember it fondly
