This film is worth seeing. I wish they would realease it on DVD.

At this point, I'd be happy even seeing it on tv. Perhaps I'll write to TCM once more and see if there's a chance it'll air in the US again.

That'll be a good idea...

Got the stock scripted "To see if your movie is playing on TCM, use the white search bar located at the top of the home page"

Is there an e mail address for a human at this bloody channel or is there a way for us to bombard them with requests for this film so they'll finally play it to shut us up?

I'm tempted to call them except I'm not sure my nerves can handle the endless voice menus I'm sure are in place.

Save your nerves and don't mail TCM anymore. They have automated replies triggered by key words in your e-mail. I gave up long ago!

As far as THE NIGHT DIGGER goes, I saw it for the first and last time on its theatrical release, in my early 20s. I remember it being very eerie and effective, and that I got my first, but far from last, look at the late Nicholas Clay's naked butt. I assume that you have all done the research and that it's not available anywhere, right?

"Don't worry. I'm not on the side of the saints yet."

I've exhausted all State-side channels. I have a couple of friends in England who said they'd keep an eye out and tape it for me if they saw it. I will buy a PAL to NTSC VCR if this happens.

I read the novel which I loved far more than I thought I would...I remember the little bit I saw of the movie being very eerie.

You know you can see a whole lot more of Nicholas Clay in Lady Chatterly's Lover, right? I woudl LOVE to see Patricia Neil in this, always loved her work.

It's also letter-boxed. It looks OK but the color seems to be faded (or maybe that's the way it always looked).

I got the DVD from the Warner Archive Collection. It's uncut and the transfer is beautiful. The only big difference is it's under the title "The Night Digger" and not "The Road Builder". It's also 96 minutes so it's not ther 110 minute version released in Britain...but who cares? It still works beautifully.
