What does the U-Boat Captain say to the Pilot?

Before the U-Boat Captain shoots the Pilot he speaks to him in English saying something like; "Necessity, find..not to find..responsibility" and then says something to him in German but unfortunately there's no subtitles at this point - does anyone know what he's trying to say to him?

The Capitain also says a load of stuff (again in German) to another one of his crew who comes knocking at the door - again, is anyone able to translate?

Cheers

Ian

My German is a bit ropey but I think he says something along the lines of "fur meine leute" which means he has a responsibility for his crew .That is to say he committed a war crime and there must be no witnesses to the massacre of the British sailors otherwise the Germans could be hanged by the allies after the war.A captain called Eck suffered this fate after machine gunning lifeboats.

ich habe verantwortung fur meine leute, verstehen sie.
I have a responsibility, for my crew.

Then he askes a crewmember if they searched the village -- yes we searched everything but haven't found a survivor. - good check if the boat is ready to depart plus something else i cannot understand - jawohl herr kapitan - only fire when i explicitly order it - then he shoots the englishmen

The real question is : why did they massacre the British crew in the first place ? The war was nearly over. UPDATE : Oh i think i get it now after reading the other thread "strafing seamen" - they did'nt want anyone left to reveal their position - probably because they were trying to hide till the end of the war . Or perhaps it's based on that German Commander Eck bloke who got hanged for similar stuff . Even more interesting Film now !

That which does not Kill me makes me Stranger . . .

for God's sake ... why not just surrender? There was no justification to kill those folks
