RESTORATION IS DAMN GOOD (SPOILERS)

I just saw it this evening, and it's damn good job well done by Janus Films. One concern about re-releasing this movie was for music rights. There were a couple of Elvis tunes played in the background - "Just Because" when Divine and David finish up at the Calvacade of Perversion and head home to fight about Sharon Tate, then they also fight about how she brought up her daughter, Cookie, who's dancing topless to Jailhouse Rock upstairs. These have been replaced by a couple of rockabilly instrumentals which blend in seamlessly and sound as if they've been a part of the movie all along.

No pops, splice marks, scratches, etc. Mars, the Bringer of War is retained and it's a digital master, not the scratchy record, and Kate Smith no longer sings God Bless America as Divine is executed by the National Guard, it's a public domain recording of America the Beautiful which works just as well.

I walked out at the end, thinking "now was that so hard all this time, Waters?"



I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
