I bought a copy of the UK DVD release in HMV recently and this has the best visual and sound quality. It is far better than the off the peg bootlegs, downloads and streams on the net. I would advise anyone to purchase this official release by Optimum and steer clear of the dodgy copies floating around on the web.

No deleted scenes and behind the scenes footage although the original UK trailer is included and there are four rare colour stills on the back of the DVD cover. The British Lion ident with the red background and distinctive eye logo has been replaced with an original BBFC certification board stating that Melody is certified "A" (although you can hear the British Lion jingle). The scene where Daniel and Melody push the trolley cart, "To Love Somebody" does not appear on the screen unlike other prints.

Peckham's boring and flat on Sundays. In fact, England's boring and flat on Sundays.

"To Love Somebody" originally did not appear on the UK film release, though it was overseas for some reason particularly the Far East as it can be seen on their film prints and inluded also on their official DVD releases. The Japanese film release is interesting because it includes a prelude at the start of Melody which they included on their DVD release. And also includes both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions with trailer and biographies.
