"Macbeth" restored on Criterion BluRay available Sept. 23. 2014


Also coming in September is the release of Roman Polanski's Macbeth on September 23. The release includes a new 4K digital restoration, new documentary, the 1971 documentary "Polanski Meets Macbeth" and much more.

Yes! I waited for this BluRay since forever.

It's by far the best film adaptation of Shakespeare's play ever made!
And one of the top Shakespeare films.

Most people unfortunately haven't seen it yet, but have now a chance to re-discover it in its true glory.

It'll be a blind buy for me. Watched a few scenes (including one amazing fight scene) on YouTube and read some reviews. I'll definitely be buying it.

It is absolutely beautiful. The film is completely reinvented for me. I had only seen the washed out pan and scanned vhs before.

This film is gorgeous. Bravo Polanski, Gil Taylor and the production designer.

And of course bravo to Criterion, again. They restore my faith in humanity several times a year.

Also, let's get imdb to change the image for this film - that's one of the vhs covers... and it's not even Macbeth!

It's one of Banquo's line - notice the mirror. Pretty stupid.
