Shocking...

The film opens with Bruce playing football for his local team. The ball is played out right and the winger swings in a cross which Bruce converts with a textbook header (classic Beckham & Yorke 98/99). He is marginally offside and so the goal is disallowed however, the marking was terrible! Shocking! Ferguson would have a fit! Schoolboy error! If Bruce had timed his run better the goal would have stood. The back-four were all over the place, ball watching and not paying attention to the striker. If you want to be a Bobby Moore, Paulo Maldini or a Jipp Japp Stam you need to read the game better. Let that be a lesson to all you aspiring defenders out there...

When you say "local team", what sort of standard? Were there linesmen (as they were then called)? If not I would question the validity of the offside decision.

I have to agree, he went just a little bit too early. A nice finish though, you can understand why he was upset to have that one chalked off. A little bit of the 'John Terrys' with the referee to earn himself an early bath, too !
