Final Fight Ending Question

Can someone possibly explain to me how the Major gets out of any kind of punishment? Why didn't they at least beat him up too along with his henchmen? Seriously what's the thought process here? After all of the trouble he has caused being the main antagonist of the film? He tried numerous times to have Trinity and Bambino killed, and then hires Mezcal to kill all of the Mormons so he can have their land. And this guy doesn't even get one punch to the face for that?!?! Then during the fight one of the Mormons wises up and goes after the Major only to be stopped by Tobias. What gives??? I know he wasn't going to be killed but couldn't he have at least gotten the same deserving fate as his men did? Nope they just let him go free and untouched. I know this film is more on the comedy side but that kind of bothered me. Personally I would have killed him after everything he had done and was planning to do, and that decision is a lot easier for a non-Mormon like myself. Just curious if I'm not the only one who felt this way after watching this movie. It's still a great film nonetheless.
