Carroll O'Connor?
Sir Carol Reed?
Carroll Shelby?
Karol Wojtywa? (Pope John Paul II)
Carol, Carroll, or Karol is a derivative name, based on Charles, Carl, or Karl.
thx. it's a quote from the movie.
βCan't go wrong with taupe."- Wynn Duffy
"Call me 'dear'!"
(The actor who played 'Carol' was a superb character actor from the sixties and seventies, Vincent Gardenia.)
(I read your comment prior to seeing the film. Donald Sutherland steals the show, and gets a few guffaws in the process.)
A guy in my class at school was called Brian Mary Collins. It was not unusual for Catholic boys in Ireland then (Sixties) to be named after the Blessed Virgin.
