Haha, worst tagline ever!

Seriously, that tagline is awful. Can't say I miss the 70s. Not that I was alive during them.

"...something's missing when he's not there, y'know like, when you lose a wart." - Billy Boyd

Well, 230 m.p.h. to be more exact...

It's this:

"Steve McQueen takes you for a drive in the country. The country is France. The drive is at 200 MPH!"

But we both know that the cars at that time were going even faster than that on the Mulsanne. I read around 230 m.p.h. .

They don't know drama when they see it. The tagline should have been:

"Steve McQueen takes you for a drive many dream for and only a few are eligible. Speeds in excess of 200 mph, danger is a corner away, in a race for 24 hours, winning and losing is judged by how brave or suicidal every competitor is, for here, every second counts whether you will live to tell about your exploits or your family remembers you when they pay their respects. Strap on your shoulder harnesses and fasten your seat belts and maintain focus because it's you and four dozen other competitors pushing the cars to the limits to see who can run the most distance in 24 hours, a completed day. Welcome to Le Mans."
