For pity sake, if he was so destitute, why didn't people just take up a collection so a fine actor like Joseph Cotten wouldn't have to degrade himself making crap like this?

He was once again directed by Welles, like in good old times... LOL

Perhaps he enjoyed having a "Janet Leigh Moment". Plus spending time with Rosalba Neri couldn't have been too difficult.

"Janet Leigh Moment", what does that mean?

That means killing off who appears to be the lead character rather early in the movie like Janet Leigh in "Psycho".
