Anyone else get a sense of a Dr. Zhivago influence?

I haven't really seen any Soviet films from that period, so I wouldn't know if there were certain themes that were typical in films then.
That said, the scenes showing Malgren and the nurse playing in the snow seemed very reminiscent of Dr. Zhivago. Anyone else get that feeling?
