Jane Fonda gives one of the greatest female performances ever

Just saw this movie tonight and I was totally blown away by Jane Fonda's performance, just wow seriously just wow.

Totally AGREE. Her best role, ever, imho. She was excellent as Bree.

For this, and her performances in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), Julia (1977), and The China Syndrome (1979), she deserves her reputation as the greatest American film actress of the 1970s. Superlative work.

This is my favorite Jane Fonda role ever, and she deserved the Oscar. No matter what you think of her politics, she was spectacular in this film.

Remember us, for we too have lived, loved and laughed

MADNESS! Have never seen such a tacky misguided portrayl of anything so bad in any other film, ever. AWFUL. CRINGEY. TERRIBLE. If i have to hear one more of her fvcking weird unsexy tapes again, I'll diw.

Cringy is key...gives you the mindset.

reply

I agree. I believe she won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role....

reply

Yes. The film is far from perfect, although it is always watchable. But Fonda's finely detailed character study is simply magnificent. Easily one of the great performances of the 1970s.

The scene at the end where she's listening to the tape is Oscar reel material. Also, she was hot af.

reply

That is a great scene. Really stays with you. And yes, she was indeed hot as.
