Klute and David Fincher

I'm watching most of Fincher's films again, specifically Se7en, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and even Gone Girl, and I don't know if it's just me, but I'm kind-of noticing some minor similarities they have with Klute. The mystery aspect, the look and feel to the films, the letters in Gone Girl, etc. You could quite possibly say that Dragon Tattoo is probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing a "remake" of Klute, in some form or matter. Of course on the Se7en commentary Fincher has said that the 1971 film influenced that film, but maybe it has had a bigger influence on Fincher's films that presumed.

It may be just me thinking it, but does anyone else notice some similarities?

No question. Soderbergh also loves him some 70's Pakula.
