I bought the DVD a few weeks ago :D It was great watching it! I'm so glad they released it on DVD

I'm buying this ASAP. I first saw this also when I was 5 or 6 somewhere around 1979 when it aired on one of the local L.A. independent stations. It has been that long since I've seen it, so my memory if somewhat fuzzy and probably biased in favor of childhood youth and magic.

However, I recall that Liza Minnelli did a superb job as "Dorothy" and thinking that actually the later 1985 film sequel "Return to Oz" wasn't as good as this cartoon.

I have always held this cartoon in a special place in my heart. I wonder if it will hold up all these years later.

Now if they will only release "Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown" on DVD, I will be a happycamper.

No kidding. That and "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown". I'd also like to see the Ragedy Ann and Andy movie released on DVD.

As far as Journey Back to Oz, it definately wasn't as great as I remember, but it was still fun to watch again after all these years.

i thought this movie was live action and a disney movie made in the 80s?
