That truck driver

Just made me laugh my ass off. Saying "these kids today get everything handed to them on a plastic spoon" and then lowered and shook his head and said ...I mean, silver spoon geez.. I guess that scene was too expensive and time consuming to do over. I loved it just the way they left it.
One terrific film.

I just saw the scene with the truck driver that you mentioned. The movie is on right now on Encore Western via Comcast. It sure did look like the truck driver an extra, messed his line up when he said, "these kids today get everything handed to them on a plastic spoon" and then lowered and shook his head and said ..."I mean, silver spoon geez". Thanks for pointing this scene and line out.

That line was scripted. I have a copy of the original script I bought at an auction.

The truck driver was played by Bruce Kirby and he was anything but an extra. He had done tons of television prior to this movie and had also appeared in Catch-22. I remember him best as Grace Van Owen's boss on "L.A.Law."

I never watched much television shows and stuff. When I was a youngster I went for books and music. My brother always hogged the television anyway. I was lucky if I got to see Saturday Night Live and Johnny Carson and David Letterman. This was back in the late seventies and early eighties. We had one television and a metal antenna wired to our porch and we got snow with all out two channels. Our movies came out of Washington DC. WTTG in DC.. thank goodness for the first independent station in America.
