after Silent Running? WTH is he doing in this backwoods production? Alfred Hitchcock rarely said nice things about actors. He sang praises about Bruce Dern! Very strange to see him in this flotsam. Fun flotsam, but flotsam nonetheless!

Hasn't Bruce Dern had a career full of "down periods" followed by the occasional "up period" (which he appears to be in now with "Nebraska"). Flotsam or not, he's always worth watching in my book.
