Worst Bruce Dern Film?

I first saw this film years ago and thought it was hilarious! Where else can you see a film featuring Bruce Dern, Pat Priest who played Marilyn in The Munsters television show, and Casey Kasem of American Top Forty fame? I think that Casey Kasem had trouble living this abomination down and has appeared in few feature films since. In some ways this movie is similar to the Incredible Two-Headed Transplant that was released the next year. If this movie was not parodied on Mystery Science Theater 3000 it should have been. This may be the worst film that Bruce Dern ever appeared in.

So bad, it's good! The idea of the bad guy standing behind the retard, to appear as a two headed freak is hilarious. I would love to own this movie.

Then own it, its out on dvd.

"In some ways this movie is similar to the Incredible Two-Headed Transplant that was released the next year". Since this page is about TITHT I'm assuming that you're thinking of The Thing With Two Heads with Rosie Grier and Ray Milland. In my opinion TTWTH is not just 'in some ways...similar to TITHT', but was an obvious rip-off of TITHT.

I saw this movie on tv years ago. I remember later that Bruce Dern appeared in I think Johnny Carson and he mentioned this movie and was not proud of it at all but he was still a struggling actor and he said his agent called him and got him this part. He said the filming was done in two days. He also mentioned that the agent that got him this part was now his ex agent. :)

To this day, though, Dern has said he doesn't regret doing the film. The salary he earned helped pay for his wedding to his third wife, one that has lasted 42 years (as of August 31, 2012).

Ironically, the film sat on the shelf for two years after his wedding.

Actually, Casem did the movie as a favor to the producers. He was in heavy demand as a voice-over actor and producers felt a younger audience might watch the movie if they recognized Casem's voice from "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?."

Because of his voice-over skills and his "American Top 40" radio and television programs, Casem easily weathered the disaster that was "The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant."

However, for Pat Priest, who was trying to break out of the "Munsters" typecasting, it was a career killer.

Ironically, it didn't really hurt Dern. Every great actor has a film like this on his or her resume that they can later look back on and laugh.

I want to collect Dern's movies but, I felt sick just seeing parts of this and I've seen worse!

So, Bruce Dern's a mad scientist. He's done really high-energy crazy or disturbed characters before. But here, he's playing an ACTUAL mad scientist, and he gives the most low-key performance of his career? What?!

I just watched this movie and it isn't that bad. It was entertaining and Dern was believable as the mad scientist. Pat Priest was very easy on the eyes also. I thought they pulled off the 2 headed man thing pretty well for having a limited budget.
