Just to be clear,I was being ironic
ASSAULT 1971 is a magnificent thriller that portrays schoolgirls beautifully.
The film has a strong message and a powerful ending. It is a classic UK thriller.
The movie did seem to sexualize schoolgirls, but that might partly have been due to its subject matter. The girls' pink miniskirts "uniforms" would likely raise some eyebrows in most countries today, but might have been "historically accurate" for England of that period. This could be seen by the fact that the "teacher", played by Suzy Kendall, had the shortest skirts of them all.
All the same, the film did not put schoolgirls in a favorable light. It is a bit amusing that the headmistress blamed one girl for putting on lipstick in school, but apparently did not mind their short skirts. Later the same girl was "helped" up the ladder in the library by the headmistress' sleazy husband, who took the opportunity to feel her legs and behind, and she obviously encouraged and enjoyed his attention.
There is a uncut version of the film where he does more then that. It's quite obvious where his hand was going.
