Diana Rigg

She is too sexy in this movie. I just needed to say that.

reply

She certianly made me believe George C Scott could lose his impotence problem.

reply

Yeah, y'all think so? Go watch the episode of The Avengers, "A Touch Of Brimstone." Just last week, I showed it to a 40-ish buddy of mine, and his reaction to the reveal of her, er, gear, I guess you'd say, for the big fight at the end was two words: "Oh, yum." The guy was struck speechless.

To bowdlerize Mr M. Jagger, "she'd make a dead man hum."

reply

Diania Rigg is a goddess.

Couldn't place her - remembered the lisp but ...damn ! She was HOT ! I turned the same age as the doc character yesterday, was having the identical thoughts as this character ! Was REALLY relating to the movie - one of those "strange" moments where I said to myself "why did this movie come onto my radar tonight ? Like Scott was speaking my mind - then said to myself (out loud actually) "where the hell is my hippie chick ?" LOL ! Had to come here and find out her name. She had her 10 minutes and then - poof - never heard of her again ! Is she still living ? I think she was in a TV cop show or something - before or after this ?
"Network" is on now - what lines ! As if it was written today (the recession/depression hasn't happened-yet).But anyhow, yup, the hair, the eyes,
the seductive demeanor ... 'You make a dead man...." (Stones)
Geeeeeeez - now Holdens getting his !

This is a joke, right? Diana Rigg is one of the most eminent British stage and screen actresses of the past half-century. She's been knighted, won a Tony for playing Medea, and created one of the most indelible TV characters of all time. She's in the same class as Helen Mirren, Vanessa Redgrave, Judi Dench, and Maggie Smith.

yourauntgussie -

LOL !! just read your post after I posted - almost the identical lyric/thought (same song) ! We just had different ways of keeping it clean !
Hot, Hot, HOT !

reply

Agreed. Absolutely devastating.

reply

I agree that she was too sexy in this movie, but I don't think that's a good thing. I really didn't think she and George C. Scott made a believable couple.

reply

She was playing a hippy type character which made her fling with Scott believable enough. But BOY! was she sexy in this........Yowza!

reply

I can remember watching her in the Avengers when I was in grade school and I knew she was hot. She is definitely sex on legs in "The Hospital." If I'm not staring at her cleavage, I'm looking at her legs.

You had me up until that last line, Catch. Diana Rigg is a fine actress to be sure but she is hardly in the same league with Helen Mirren, Vanessa Redgrave, Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.

Judi Dench ?

She was one of the hottest women of her day and easily the sexiest English actress back then. She was perfection in this and the Bond film she did. It's a shame she never took off after this movie, because she sure was gorgeous and sure could act.

She reminds me a lot of Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet. She's got the looks of Winslet but is a fine actress like Blanchett

reply

Diana Rigg was simply gorgeous. One of the top 5 females to ever grace the screen (large or small.) There are a few episodes from Season 4 of The Avengers (her first season in the series) that are must-see TV for any male.

She is muy caliente!

A number of years have passed since the last post on this subject. I've been watching "Game of Thrones" since it started. When Diana Rigg came on screen, I nearly fainted. She looked...OLD. I mean, near death. I nearly cried, but DAMN she can still act the hell out of a part. I respected and was afraid of her, and she's on TV AND FICTIONAL. And yet, wow, the talent is still there.

Sadly, she doesn't seem to have aged well. But that happens and I admire and applaud her not going the route of having work done. I think it not only got her the part in GOT, but it makes her REAL and honest. I admire that and find it sexy, even if her looks do nothing for me anymore, but hell, she IS old, right?

As far as putting her in the category of Helen Mirren. I agree. She's got the acting chops, always has (though she never got the BIG parts that Ms....sorry DAME Mirren has) but the sexiness was overwhelming and sexy while being pretty. Hellen Mirren is pretty in an unconventional way, still is, unquestionably, but Diana Rigg was VERY, VERY PRETTY, period.

I wish I had "The Avengers" on DVD, I think I'd like to watch an episode right now. :)

Oh, and "The Hospital", LOVE the movie and George C. Scott was one of my most favorite actors. Had to mention the movie in all that b.s.
