Impressions of The Hired Hand

i've got a small review, more like my initial impressions, over at my film blog Direct Cinema. Please check it out if you're interested. It would be awesome to get a dialogue going for this film, so post comments if you have any thoughts.

I love this movie. I love the music and the transition between scenes, the way that one image slowly fades out and another comes in underneath it. It has an overall atmosphere at times that I can't find a good word for...hazy, but colorful. Like I said I can't find the word for it. In some ways it reminds me of "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" probably because of the music and mood. The other plus is that it has Warren Oates, one of my favorite actors.
