In my town

AND in my hometown, just next door in Cape May...LOL - that didn't make it any better, did it?? I saw it when I was a WEEEE child, all I remember where the two scenes of violence against women - the murder at the beginning, and the rape scene in the barn (which was filmed very close to where I grew up). LOL - I was too young to even understand what was happening in that scene, I thought they were just fightin'...

Jan was nice back then...and we even got Mitchum's autograph, which I understand was kind of an oddity...

i remember sitting on the curb accross the street from the police station on 12th ave. in wildwood, watching the filming of this movie, my grandmom's house is on 11th ave, and when you looked out the kitchen window and through the houses on 12th you could see the movie trucks, was the most excitment wildwood had in a long time.

i also remember during a break in shooting, robert mitchum was walking around in front of the station, and this lady (apparently a fan) called accross the street to him, and he looked, turned up his nose and walked away without even a wave.

i also got an autograph from someone in the film, but forget who and have long since lost it, amazing what you remember from when you were around 12 lol.

The trailer court was across from the old Dunkin' Donuts in Great Valley Shopping Center (on Route 30). Between takes, Mitchum & Vaccaro hung out at Katy's Bar & Lounge next door.
