Seriously, Rod Steiger is unbearable. Such an interesting, great movie anyways. But man, if only Eli Wallach could have had that role.

shareHard to say. The actor was fine and Eli already played a similar role. It's like asking Eastwood to star in Once Upon a Time in the West. Good, but needs some variety.
shareDisagree with this. I don't find Eastwood's Leone characters to be similar to Bronson's. Harmonica is definitely more like Lee Van Cleef in For a Few Dollars More.

Agreed. Eli Wallach was made to order for the Miranda role. A wasteful shame.

shareI agree. Wallach, a fine actor indeed, has never been a truly sympathetic character - or likeable. Great at playing utter bastards though.
