How does the book end? Spoilers (obviously!)

It is very difficult to track a copy of this thing down. As soon as I do I will read it, but in the meantime was curious about how the endings differ. I heard there are flashbacks to his childhood with Frank and a greater emphasis on the importance of the family shotgun, but the endings sounds very different. Can someone film me in? Much thanks.

The book is a bit different. Not as many people die for one thing. He is going to murder Brumby, but he escapes. Glenda he knocks out and leaves for the police. Although he injects Margaret with heroin, I got the impression that it was just enough to make her unconscious. When he tries to get Eric, Eric knifes him. Eric gets killed because he is going to shoot Carter with the shotgun, but it blows up in his face. One of the other gangsters finds Carter, but just leaves him, assuming that he is going to die from the knife wound. It finishes with Carter just lieing there, still alive, but bleeding profusely.

The book is actually not hard to track down at all... you can buy it either used on amazon with the title "Jack's Return Home" or a new version (same content exactly) with the title "Get Carter" for about £6
