Seriously, when I looked at it closely, there are Volkswagen bugs and vans peppered all throughout this movie.
and what I assume is the same red Mustang shows up over and over again all over NYC

Haha yeah I noticed that too. The green beetle cracks me up every time it appears in the car chase.
shareActually, it's a bit of a mis-read in BULLITT. The VW bug does appear multiple times, however, the scene of the cars bouncing over the hills is the same stunt shown from about 4 different angles (twice from inside each car, and at least twice from stationary camera angles on the street). It does re-appear in later in the chase, however.
shareCool wrfarley, good to know that. It was alright they used the same car, but knowing it was mostly because of many different angles being filmed makes sense. Thanks for the info. The next time I catch it on tv I'm still probably going to laugh, but at least I'll have a better idea of what I'm seeing. It would have been even funnier if, after the chase was all over, we see the VW race by McQueen as he gets out of his car.
