... makes it a film worth watching. From the point they decide to kill the cop played by Gene Hackman, the movie becomes really suspenseful and exciting. The car chase scene is pretty damn good, and Hackman is an excellent actor.

I didn't watch this film for years. Thought it would be a run of the mill and kinda slow and boring New Hollywood film. I was wrong. It's the mother of all cops films. Not a single frame is wasted here. It is kinda slow, but never ever boring.

I kind of hated that part since's Gene's extremely unsubtle shadowing caused the deaths of several innocent people.
