Katherine Cannon and Anne Baxter

Katherine Cannon certainly lights up the screen in this movie. I can't take my eyes off her from the moment she appears on the shoreline! I can see why Anne Baxter didn't like her comical DAR character. Over painted Baxter having to act next to a beauty like Cannon in a simple sun dress must have been emotionally painful for her. Katherine Cannon is simply beautiful!

I have to agree, I was in absolute awe at Cannon's grace. As for Baxter, I couldn't help but remind myself of all the clowns I've seen in my lifetime when she came on screen. Although the scene were she dies is perhaps, one of the best scenes out of this movie.

how did you come to see this film? was it on recently?

"only one food for the rest of my life? That's easy, cherry-flavored Pez. No question about it."

Yes, it was on TV. We have this channel around here that mixes dust covered classics with the most recent stuff. I always make myself to watch the former most of the time :)

She was hot, kinda reminded me of a young Cybill Shepherd.

Yeah Kathy Cannon looked so innocent and sweet too. You don't see girls like that in America anymore. The last time I saw girls look that sweet and humble and innocent was in 1984. Nowadays you have to go overseas to find girls like that. Modern American girls are way too spoiled and snotty with an entitlement complex and bad attitude. Something in this country has poisoned girls and everything else.
