Will a decent dvd release of this ever get released?

Every dvd copy released over the past 15 years has been utter trash quality.Surely this film gets aired on network or cable channels and i'm betting their copy of the film is 100 times better than what we got on dvd over and over again.I remember in the 80's and 90's even HBO aired it quite a few times and their air copy was pristine quality.

I'm with you 100%.
This is a great film about a seventies icon which deserves to be remastered.
At least I can enjoy it on the original vhs release.

Unlikely. I think because this film is in the public domain that not too many distributors would be willing to pay for a new and improved print of the film when people can see it just about anywhere.
