Of all the Apes movies...

its not the best but at least is the most logical and plausible of all the apes movies

reply

This one is by far the best of the sequels.

reply

But this one has the least amount of apes in it

reply

So?

reply

The less talking apes, the more boring the film is

reply

Thus the title… ESCAPE FROM The Planet Of The Apes

reply

This is my least favorite. The best sequel is Beneath. It's just so wild and imaginative with the illusions and the mutants in the ruined city. Beneath is the most Science Fictiony of them all.

reply

In my opinion being "science-fictiony", as alluded to by another poster above, is NOT what made the original Apes film the best. It was the best because while it didn't follow Boulle's novel particualarly closely, at least understood that the story was above all allegorical and satiric. Only Escape really follows in the footsteps of the original in this regard to the same degree. Whether the story is realistic or not from an evolutionary point of view (it isn't) doesn't really matter.

I watched it yesterday again. My opinion about the movie has changed a little bit, it is not bad ( of course the first one is absolutely the best), they try at least to clarify some points about the evolution of the apes on earth.
