The answer is no. There's no pretension here. The film doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Unless you're working off your own meaning of pretentious, in which case, I'm sure you're right. As for being crap, which suggests, colloquially anyway, that the film has no value. I didn't find this to be the case. I thoroughly enjoyed the mind games the director was playing here. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. You're missing a great deal of fun.
