IN an early episode of the Rockford files, I think "the dark and bloody ground", a rig is chasing Rockford in a car--NOT his Firebird IIRC, and trying to run him down. It happens pretty early in the episode. .

shareI have seen that episode too. A lot of the roads they used in that scene look a lot like the ones from Duel when Mann's radiator hose went out.
shareBy coincidence the actor/stuntman Carey Loftin who is the truck driver in Duel also did most of the stunts in Rockford Files.

A number of TV shows from that era were able to use footage from Duel as stock footage. Is it possible the scenes in Rockford were taken from the movie?
