Dennis Hopper was a wonderful actor.

When he was in Gunsmoke his performances as Chester Goode virtually stole the show every time. His relationships with Doc, Matt, and Kitty were the most enjoyable aspect of that series. Even though Ken Curtis did an exc4ptional job in filling Weaver's shoes when he ledt, somehow the Chester character was less soapy than Festus. As to his performance in Duel, well it's nothing short of miraculous. Understatement and the suspension of disbelief are both handled remarkably well here and it would hard to find another that could handle this role so expertly as Dennis Weaver. I love watching the guy and I'm no cowboy.

True, he was a wonderful actor....see River's Edge...
But he was unrelated to Duel.

Funny, I also use to get the names Dennis Hopper and Dennis Weaver mixed up when I was a kid, many years ago.

Yep Sigourney Weaver was great in this!

Very funny. At the end of the day Dennis Weaver was great in Duel. A fine actor all round.

Hedda Hopper made the whole movie enjoyable!

Charley Weaver was a welcome addition.

reply

No, it was William Hopper. He was also very good on "Perry Mason".
