shouldve been a Dirty Harry 6 in the late 1990s

around 1998 or 99 - around the time of Absolute Power, True Crime, or even Blood Work in 2002 (maybe instead of one of those -back then he was around the age of Sly/Arnold now and younger than Ford) with Clint directing of course.

The Dead Pool was pretty bad so the series shouldn't have been allowed to go out like that. like the way Stallone did Rocky Balboa/Rambo IV to counteract the series' going out with Rocky V/Rambo III, and the way they did Star Trek VI to make up for V

Clint sort of wrapped up his western genre with Unforgiven but never really did it for the police genre so even more reason to have done Dirty Harry VI.

Obviously it would've had to have been a lot better than the last few DH movies - hopefully itd have been a return to the quality of at least the 2nd film (like Rocky6) with references/call backs to the previous films. a last mission before retirement or pulled out of retirement for something - maybe to do with something that happened in the first films(like Die Hard 3 - another series with a dreadful 5th part) - e.g. a Scorpio copycat or the son of one of the cops he killed in Magnum Force out for revenge against Harry

I would've like it, it could've been his Expendables movie.

Blood work could of easily been wrote as a Harry movie, it would of been beliveable that as an aging detective he could of easily had heart problems. ect.

it would of been great to have another DH movie.

They're also giving Terminator another go after the disappointing 5th movie .. pity it didn't happen with Harry

I have no idea why Clint didn't revisit the character while doing his stint of work as "one last job for the old man". Maybe he doesn't own the rights? The series certainly could have used a capstone. Cement it all together. I'm not sure he realized what a big draw the character is. But maybe he already said everything he had to say with Harry. Who knows. If his heart wasn't in it, it woulda sucked anyhow. I actually liked Dead Pool. Pretty good movie.

I always wanted to see a combined finale to both Dirty Harry and Death Wish before Charles Bronson died.

Harry Callahan and Paul Kersey wind up in the same retirement community. They meet, and find they like each other, but they are competing for an attractive older woman, maybe Ann Margret. Ann Margret gets killed by a mugger, and then the mugger is found shot to death. Harry finds proof that Kersey did it and finds a scrapbook showing that Kersey was the infamous unknown vigilante who cleaned up many American cities in the 70s and 80s. Kersey finds out he is terminally ill and starts a new war against local criminals that he does not intend to survive. Harry has to decide whether or not to stop Kersey or help him.

Damn. That'd be great comic book.

There's always The Rookie (1990), made just a mere two years after "The Dead Pool" (1988). It could easily be a sixth installment to the Dirty Harry franchise. Even one of the film critics (can't remember who) likened it as such.
