Then and now - - not much difference

Felt the exact same way when I watched this for the first time last night at a theatre. My thoughts were exactly what you said, but now it's not all about religion, it's about pinpointing the race as well. If they are blacks or hispanics, they rape and steal and cause a lot of crimes (Thank you, Donald Trump). If you're an arab or a muslim, you're labelled a terrorist.

Also people will CHOOSE to believe what they want and how they want it. If someone says a joke, they won't look at the comment as a joke but nitpick at some of the key words and make a big deal about what was said and not how it was said.

Last night, I didn't only get to see a film about history but I saw a film depicting the human race and how easily one will turn against the other. Disgusting.

Grandier means well but is a womanizer.

Richelieu, religious fanatic in a skull cap (very Jewish looking BTW) conspires to destroy the independent city, going to deviant politician for patronage. They use a twisted matriarch figure (nun with sexual problems) to attack Grandier.

As Grandier himself says, the aim is to destroy the independence of the city under the guise of nationalism (but in this case nationalism is globalism).

In the end the frenzied mob of liberals bring about the destruction of the city and themselves.
