Is this worth purchasing the blu-ray?

....thanks.

Well all I can say is that if you really enjoy and appreciate classic style vampire flicks, find early '70s horror movies that contain a fairly high amount of camp in them to be good fun, and just truly love horror films from a bygone era, then I'd say yes definitely purchase it.

I did!

Agree with the post above, it's funny, sometimes quite scary (despite the campiness) and the Arrow blu Ray is, as usual, beautifully mastered and packed with interesting stuff.

I would say yes, if you're a fan. Apart from the movie itself (which I love), Twilight Time's blu ray is a pretty good release, with some nice special features for a TT release (usually not known for special features), though like all TT blus, it's fairly pricey and limited in quantity to 3000 (probably quite a bit less by this point, since it's been out for a while), so it probably won't ever lower in price, only go up, even for used copies. As well, if you wanted the sequel, you'd have to buy it separately, as it was released through Scream Factory.

If you have a region free player, you could buy the Arrow release that's upcoming that compiles both films in the same edition; I'd guess that the video/audio quality of the Arrow release would be near identical to the TT/Scream blus, but Arrow typically is killer on the special features front and can't be competed with most of the time in that regard. But I think it's only Region B, so if you dont' have a region free player, you won't be able to watch it.

Of course, there's also the old Midnite Movies DVD release, which has both Yorga films on it, and the last time I checked, it was like five bucks on Amazon. If you haven't seen the film(s) and are interested in them, then that might the best route to take at least for the first time, as it'll spare you from spending upwards of near 50 dollars on a movie or two that you might not like after the fact.

I recently bought the blu ray region b combo set and I am very happy. The picture quality is much better than the dvd with great extras. Definitely recommend.

If you like 70s vampire films, then yes. Otherwise, probably not.
