No. There is no man with black wet-suit in this one. It sounds more similar to "Man From Deep River" (dir. by Umberto Lenzi).

They have vaguely similar ideas, but Lenzi was pure exploitative material. He says he's the first to do this in the featured interview, but he's just being the usual pompous self-promoter that he is. Nelson Pereira dos Santos was probably left aghast at seeing Lenzi's film, if he got around to watching it.

I have seen this film. I recall that the Frenchman is bearded to start with and a prisoner of the Portuguese. He falls (or is pushed down) a bridge into a raging river with hands bound, but somehow frees himself and survives. He is then captured by a band of cannibalistic natives who eventually make him a guest of their tribe and even offer him a 'wife'. There is no overt sex scene even though all characters perform naked, but towards the end the Frenchman and his girl are shown playfully rolling in each others arms. The ending, where the Frenchman is slain to be eaten is brutal. His 'wife' gets to eat his neck!

If by wetsuit you mean a rubber suit like divers wear, it couldn't be this movie, since it takes place in the 17th century. But in the last scene his body is painted black, so maybe that's what you're thinking of? Also, another movie very similar to this is HANS STADEN. Same story, based on the same historical events. I remember there is a sex scene in that one, where the girl comes on pretty strong.
