Opening of this film

I've seen several references to the opening of this film, like the one here at IMDB describing the "plot" of this film:

"A Green Beret returns home from the Vietnam war to find that a gang of murderous bikers has killed his fiancee."

But the opening of this film does NOT take place in Vietnam.

There are these US troops who run into some "Vietnamese" guys who are digging the ground on a hillside, but the Vietnamese guys pretty well ignore them. Suddenly the Vietnamese pull out guns and start blasting the Yanks, many of whom just drop to the ground while shooting back without taking cover. There is a terrific firefight, but NO ONE gets killed or even injured. The whole confrontation is very lame.

Later, some U.S. soldier pokes at this supposedly dead Vietnamese peasant, and another Vietnamese guy suddenly leaps out of nowhere onto the Yank and subdues him. Then the Green Beret leader comes along and tells the "Vietnamese" guy something like "good job." When this is all over, the Vietnamese guys leave in a large truck along with the U.S. soldiers and everyone is pals.

It's pretty obvious the whole thing was not in Vietnam at all, but just some kind of training exercise being held in the States with guys pretending to be Vietnamese, so the American soldiers could sharpen their skills.
