According to the Amazon and the DVD Talk websites, Warner Home Video will finally release on May 19th, 2009 in anamorphic widescreen Region 1 DVD, the Western CATLOW starring Yul Brynner, Richard Crenna, Daliah Lavi and Leonard Nimoy.
But at least, Catlow is finally officially on DVD and in widescreen and not as a bootleg video. It could have been much worse and it could have been released in a barebones DVD release in fullscreen without even a trailer, like most films released on DVD, that were not blockbuster box office successes like Catlow was in the time of it's release(1971), As the old saying goes, "Beggars can't afford to be choosers."
Good point. I'm grateful to have it on DVD at all, and the fact that it's in widescreen is definitely a plus. Hopefully it will get the restoration treatment sometime, but I'm not getting too terribly optimistic in that department.

I just got a copy from the local library and am looking forward to showing it to my group. The oldsters in the group, though mostly women, love westerns, especially the old B second feature John Waynes.
