Not filmed in Arizona/Sonora

It would have been so easy to film in the true locations of Louis L'Amour's original story: Tucson, Arizona, southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico.

Gotta say, I am not a fan of so-called "westerns," filmed in obviously foreign countries. Anyone who knows even a slight bit of geology or ecology can see that everything is so wrong about the locations.

I am a fan of Louis L'Amour, though; I might buy the DVD anyway.

Does anyone know just why this was filmed in Spain?

Life, every now and then, behaves as though it had seen too many bad movies

That's where most of the spagatini-westerns were filmed; everything they needed, then, was there already as the various production companies had outposts just waiting, drooling, for more set ups.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.
