Question!!

Can someone please explain the part of Jennifer(Played by carol Kane) to me. Thanks!!

It's all about the corned beef sandwiches and pineapple juice

I think she represented a new era and was completely unimpressed with Jonathan because times had changed. Sandy kept evolving, Jonathan couldn't get past himself.

Doesn't the fact that Sandy is dating someone so much younger than him sort of liken his character to Jonathan? I mean, he denys that the relationship is just about sex when Jon asks him about it, but she is supposed to be 18? That is a little shady.

I think she is representative of innocence and idealism, like Sandy was in college. Since she is so young, she hasn't been hardened by age; this brings a sense of peace to Sandy who still retains a small part of that in himself and finally realizes that it's good by recognizing that same quality in her.

I saw her as a poetic intellectual college graduate who was the harbinger of times to come.
