First time I saw this mentionned anywhere.. was it really "famous" at that time?

I'm talking about the "game" (named blind man game in the movie) where they turn off the light, the character has to hide himself somewhere along a wall, and then several people take a shoot at him (blindly). The game continues for as long as the character is not dead/doesn't ask to stop. He earns money for each shooting sequence.
That's how Lino Ventura buys his boat in the movie.

No, unfortunately .... :( I watched it in French (since I am French!) and the name of the game was "le jeu de l'aveugle" which translates to "blind man game".
I think you will have a hard time finding subtitles for this one as even in France it is not well known at all :(
