The best of the early junkie movies
Siegals performance was far better than 'Pacino's' in panic in needle park.
This is a forgotten and underated gem.
I thought the same thing...very underrated movie.

As far as "early" junkie films, though, Born to Win is 16 years after Man with the Golden Arm and 14 years after Hatful of Rain, both of which are better than Born to Win, which I like a lot in any event.

shareThe Panic In Needle Park was much more focused and coherent - and Pacino was definitely better than Segal (even though the latter was good also). Born To Win`s allure is that same looseness and waywards wandering nature though - and it gets the spirits, the vibe of the time so-so right. Both excellent flicks - Needle Park 8,5/10 vs BTW 8/10.
