A Real Treat for Ringo Fans !!

I saw this movie in the theater in NYC in early 1972. What an experience!! The Italians were already masters of the cinemascope ultra widescreen even then.

Yes, Ringo's voice is dubbed, but the film is an A-1 example of Spanish-Italian spaghetti Westerns. The ending is a little bit brutal for my taste, though. I think it had an NC-18 rating back then.

Would love to get a Region 1 or Region 2 or Region-Free DVD of it, anybody knwos how?

Blindman has been released on DVD in Italy by Mondo Home Entertainment; in Germany by Koch Media. Try amazon.de or dvd.it. I have no idea what the Italian release looks like, but the German release is quite well done.

To complete the tour: there is a second Italian edition in existence. And there was a Japanese DVD a few years ago, but it was reputed of lesser quality.

Hope this helps!

Here in Brazil it was releadsed on DVD "All Regions" , in a double feature along with the movie " E Per Tetto un Cielo di Stelle" ( A Skyfull of Stars for a Roof)another western-spaghetti, starring Giuliano Gemma and Mario Adorf, directed by Giulio Petroni. Both are letterboxed, dubbed in English with portuguese subtitles. You can order it at Spectra Nova in Brazil (the publishers) or buy it at www.2001video.com.br or write to me (i´m just a dvd collector)at [email protected] -Elie Politi

Ringo was surprisingly good as slimy Mexican bandit Candy in this film; he made for perfectly hateful and disgusting villain.
