Who Owns the Rights to this Movie?

Who owns the movie rights to Blindman? Is it ABKCO?

Yes.

It's been suffering from bootlegging for years but Jody Klein (Allen's son) is finally taking action.
A region 1 dvd release (by the people who actually own the movie) is imminent.

reply

It's currently showing on the British satellite channel Movies4Men. Dreadful print, second or third generation transfer.

illegal print.

They bought the rights from people who claimed to be the legitimate right holders but they aren't.
Jody Klein is the only one who owns the rights to "Blindman".

The all-region widescreen copy I have acquired is fine.

Eric, has the film, Blindman lapsed into pubic doamin?
I saw this listing on eBay

It's on a double sided DVD from Video Asia. I rented it from Netflix. The widescreen print is not too bad, If Klein owns the rights, his people should get on this. I saw it in the movies my junior year in high school.

Pubic domain :)

It usually takes 100 years for something like that to happen.
Though in the case of something like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD I don't know.

However, no. The rights for BLINDMAN are owned by Jody Klein and thus far the only official release it has had is with a French dvd that will be available within the coming months.
Koch Media and the Japanese company, whose name eludes me, bought the rights off people who claimed to be the rightful owners when they weren't.

Now there is a little thing like the "burning act law" which is a law that allows distribution to a film that was never released in the states.

Which is why all these bootleggers like GRINDHOUSE CINEMA can never be touched legally.
