Great movie

I saw Black Noon on TV when I was a kid. I tracked down a really bad copy on e-bay, but it was worth it to see the film again. It has a rather horrific ending that comes upon the reverend suddenly, rather like The Wicker Man.

I just watched this movie last night. It was sent to me by a friend who sells hard-to-find, oldschool horror films. I paid for a couple (Something Evil and Crowhaven Farm), and he sent me Black Noon for free as a bonus.

I must say that "Black Noon" is the best of the three. It is very much like The Wicker Man. What word would fit it best-- antecedant..? Predecessor?

I'm not a control freak, I just like things my way

I totally agree but for some reason Crowhaven Farm has eclipsed BN in the minds of many horror/supernatural film fans.

I saw it too on TV in 1971. Did not like the ending. Don't plan to watch it again.

The ending seals the deal.
You know who the deal is with?

I feel the same way about Wicker Man. I saw both versions. Likewise Population 487. I like for the good guy/gals to win most of the time. All of them were downers.

Rarely has a film had two such powerful back-to-back scenes as BLACK NOON. Even with the heavy foreshadowing, it sends an eerie chill up the old spine.
