Mary Norton's book Bedknob and Broomstick

In case anyone who has seen the movie is interested in reading the book that the movie is based on, be forewarned: Most of what's in the movie is not in the book. What were used are the main characters of Miss Price, Emelius Browne and the children, plus the basic premise of three children staying with Miss Price during WWII and an enchanted bedknob allowing the characters on the bed to travel. In the book, they don't just travel, but travel back in time as well. In fact, the ending of the book is VERY different from the ending of the movie for that reason. So read the book if you want, but don't expect to find the Disney version in it.

I agree the film is not much like the book. But I never cared much for the book, so i didn't midn the changes as much as i have done with other film adaptations. i don't think the book has a very good plot really.
