Pretty funny movie, but very abrupt and dissapointing ending

The original ending was supposed to be Fielding being "invited to give a revolutionary speech at Columbia University, only to be accosted by a black mob intent on knocking off the honkey lecturer as a 'gesture to white America.' Woody runs for cover, a bomb goes off, he emerges from the sooty rubble in blackface, and is instantly mistaken for a Brother by three black men with rifles."

The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.
