Kate Reid has some of the best lines in this film. Her metaphor for a cigarette as she holds in contempt the suppository Stone hands her always gets a chuckle from me. Feel free to quote your favorite Kate Reid lines such as:
"Relax...I'm going with you" or "Until now, we've had to worship from afar".
"I have risked drowning in that foul bath! I have been par-boiled, irradiated and xenon-flashed, and now you suggest I..."
[pushing suppository upward in the air]
"Not MY alabaster body!"
Oh God. There's nothing more inconvenient than an old queen with a head cold!
"It's a finger and palm print analyzer. It reads a composite of 10,000 dermatographic lines."
(Dutton): How'd you know that?
"Oh, Dutton, I have a long criminal record..."
Before there was Kathy Bates, there was Kate Reid. Similar types and both with massive talent.
Reid should at least have been nominated for an Oscar for this role.
