A strange thing John Wayne said.

In this documentary John Wayne made a point to say that never was an actor or horse seriously hurt while working on a John Ford picture. However, on location in Louisiana actor/stuntman Fred Kennedy was killed in a riding stunt while working on filming The Horse Soldiers, a John Ford picture, in the late 1950's. According to IMDB this caused filming to be suspended in Louisiana and moved back to California for completion. How then could John Wayne make this statement in this documentary? It's hard to imagine he had forgotten what happened.

You're absolutely right, it is very weird. Maybe because the doc makes such a big point about Ford endorsing what should have happened, instead of what actually happened.
