I keep reading reviewers say that it's for Zappa fans, but Frank Zappa is hardly in the movie at all. Ringo Starr (as Frank Zappa) appears more than Zappa himself.
That said: I can't even recommend this to Zappa fans.
Flo and Eddie fans might like it.
he's in the movie 100%! it's his story, his music, and his direction completely. can't see why this isn't for his fans just because he's not physically in front of the camera much...
that said, I used to hate this film... always loved the Mothers, but never like post-Mothers Frank at all.. and I'm a huge Turtles/Flo & Eddie fan! So, I finally re-watched it last week and totally dug it! Plus! I wasn't high! Weirdly layered, jokes all over the place and really vicious social commentary! It's more folk art/outsider art than it is straight up "art film", but holds its own well.
